it’s thursday, october 28, & moon is in cancer, in the starspace called pushya. cancer vibrates with the frequency of unconditional love, the kind of love that flows from mother to child, that expects nothing in return, that just gives from a well of love that is as bottomless as mary poppins’s carpet bag, that is actually replenished by giving—the more love we give, the more love we have to give. under the sway of cancer, we can feel into how it feels to be love, to hold loving space, for the people in our lives, to metaphorically suckle them on our love.
pushya means “best” or “nourishing” & is ruled by brihaspati, who was the best of priests, the god of prayer & devotion. in the bhagavad gita (chapter 10, verse 24), krishna says, “among the best priests, know me to be brihaspati.” krishna is the embodiment of devotion, of ours for him & him for us. pushya brings the lesson of nourishing our people through our devotion to, through our love for, them, that love is as essential as mother’s milk—or, hmmm, maybe more than.
it’s the eighth lunar day, the eighth phase of the waning moon, which supports creativity aligned with our values. if you don’t know what you value, just look at the people & objects around you, which reflect you back to you, just as who you are is a reflection of your beliefs (see below). what does your couch say about you? your best friend? your bookshelf? the food in your refrigerator? the clothes in your closet? the movies you watch? you get the idea!
jupiter infuses thursday with our desire to believe in something, to have a belief system that creates a container for our lives, grounds it & gives it meaning. in the third verse of the seventeenth chapter of the bhagavad gita (i guess it’s a bhagavad gita kinda day!), krishna tells arjuna that people, we, are made of faith (of shraddha, श़़्रद्धा) & that whatever we believe, that is who we are. if you’re not sure who you are, examine what you believe. who are you? what do you believe? are you who you mean to be & do your beliefs aligned with your vision of self?
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a kind of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss. may it inspire you to enlighten up a little more each day.
