daily blissit’s thursday, october 3, & moon is in the starspace called jyeshtha, which occupies the second half of scorpio. so we’re not out of what can often be the dark, emotionally stormy waters of scorpio just yet—one more day! scorpio energy can make us lose our bearings, not know which way is up, not be able to see the horizon on the horizon—it can just be a time of whirling, churning confusion, when we think what we’re feeling is real. i mean, yeah, sure, it’s real—i’d be the last person to deny what anyone feels—but whether those feelings are connected to reality is another story. those feelings can just create stories that we are seduced into believing. so do keep your wits about you, do try to look at those stories through the eyes of an objective observer rather than a subjective victim, & you’ll be able to ride out the storm with equanimity & perspective.

jyeshtha is ruled by indra, the king of the devas. the word “indriya” means “to belong to indra,” & indriya is the word for our sense organs: indra is the lord/king of our senses, the one who gives us power over them, allows us to control them. why would we need or want to control them? b/c it’s either us or them: if we don’t control them, they control us. but control doesn’t mean we have to get all aesthetic, sleep on a bed of nails & that sort of thing. it just means being able to say no to, say, taking in more information through our eyes & ears, aka sitting in front of a screen of any size, for another hour or being able to say no to greasy french fries b/c we know they’re fried in GMO oil & our body can’t digest that crap. b/c what we put into our bodies, what we take in, is what nourishes us & it should be nourishing, it should support our growth, our evolution into our most exalted expression of self.

it’s the sixth lunar day, which means it’s time to celebrate our victories, whether big or small. in fact, celebrating the small ones may be more important b/c they are so easily overlooked, we so easily forget to acknowledge all the less-obvious ways we are moving forward every day. what worked for you yesterday? give yourself a gold star!

thursday is jupiter’s day & this is jupiter’s last month in scorpio for another year. how have jupiter’s expansiveness & hopefulness & higher-mindedness been colluding with scorpio’s deep emotional waters to offer you lessons for growth since last november? how many more lessons can you complete in the next month?

& that’s your daily bliss! jyotish, vedic astrology, is the science of light. if you want to shine more light on your life, contact me for a session! ~.~
