it’s wednesday, october 4, & moon is in taurus, in the starspace called mrigashira, which will support & transport moon into gemini this evening. taurus is our comfort zone, where we’re good with the status quo. which could be a great good thing, as long as we’re not settling, as long as we’re not comfortable with something or someone that doesn’t serve our highest self. taurus is opposite scorpio, which, you might say, is our discomfort zone, where our fears are on high.

we get to ask ourselves whether we have succumbed to the comfort of fear or of love. which actually feels more comfortable?
mrigashira is the wandering deer, who is not content with the status quo, thinks the grass is always greener over there, the morsels tastier. in taurus, those morsels are more material, in gemini more intellectual, but the restlessness is real either way. this asterism is ruled by soma, which is another name for moon & also the elixir of immortality famously offered to the gods in ceremony, & reminds us that our divine essence is what we are ultimately always searching for, & that we always forget that it’s not out there but in here.
it’s the seventh lunar day, the seventh phase of the waxing moon, which supports us in being humble, in not getting full of ourselves. which may start to feel challenging, as mars just moved into tight conjunction with ketu & sun is fast on his heels. both mars & ketu are fiery, & sun adding more fuel to the fire isn’t going to be helpful. so we get to be extra mindful for the next coupla months (!!!) about keeping a cool head, about channeling that energy productively.
wednesday is ruled by mercury, planet of details, who is in virgo. virgo is one of the signs he rules (gemini is the other) & where he is exalted, meaning that it’s where he acts with highest intelligence. do take advantage of that intelligence to organize your head, health & home!
