it’s friday, october 4, & moon is in the starspace called mula, having slipped over the border from scorpio into sagittarius. after the perhaps turbulent ride through scorpio, sagittarius is where we find hope & guidance—a belief system to make sense of our lives, put things in perspective, or wisdom written on a banana leaf. or maybe we go to the museum & happen on a piece of art that just explodes the way we see the world. sagittarius is where we find our inspiration. what or who inspires you, shines a light on your path?
mula means “root” & is ruled by nirriti, who is the goddess of death & destruction & an especially violent aspect of kali. somehow the words “especially violent” seem oxymoronic used to describe kali, but, hey, i didn’t channel these myths! anyhoo, nirriti is described as being strong, vigorous & disheveled. she likes to rip things up, yank them out by the roots. she is disheveled (surely a polite way of putting it) b/c she is too busy destroying what doesn’t serve her to care how she looks. yanking sh*t out by the roots is messy, dirty. getting into the muck is messy, dirty. how dirty, how messy, how sloppy are you willing to get in the process of uprooting what doesn’t serve your highest purpose, what isn’t in alignment with your divine essence? can you get so immersed in the task that you don’t care what you look like or who sees you in that state? how muddy will you allow yourself to get? what do you have to lose except stagnancy?!
it’s the seventh lunar day, which is connected to lord indra, the god of gods. his reign had as many ups as downs b/c he let his ego get the better of him—make sure that doesn’t happen to you.
