it’s monday, october 7, & moon is in the starspace called shravana, which is one of the nakshatras that fine-tune capricorn’s energy. capricorn is ruled by saturn, who is serious & a bit of a worrywart, sometimes to the point of pessimism, but he just wants us to slow. our. roll. he wants us to ponder & meditate before we act in order to keep us safe. he really has our best interests at heart, even if it doesn’t always feel that way, even if it often feels like he’s raining on our parade. if you’re feeling stung by doubt or self-criticism, this could be a good time to step back & observe those feelings, ask yourself what purpose they might be serving, how they might be guiding you toward greater authenticity … or not!
shravana is the asterism that invites us to listen. a university of arizona study found that on average most people speak about 16,000 words a day—age & culture make a diff but not gender, so we can put the myth about women talking more than men to bed! so the question is, if we all talk so much, is anyone listening, are we allowing space between our brilliant expositions so the other person (presumably we’re talking to someone else) can take it in, listen, & respond appropriately, thoughtfully, intentionally? so that we are actually having a dialogue rather than a monologue?
what are we missing by talking? what might we hear if we deleted a few hundred words from our incessant chattering & allowed for more silence, for the space in which to listen to all that we might be missing? what gems might present themselves?
it’s the tenth lunar day, which is about handling pressure & responsibility (very saturnian! very capricornian!), about taking action steps in alignment with our soul’s purpose.
monday is ruled by the moon, who wants us to feel rather than think, trust that if we tap into our heart energy we will know what to do, how to be.
