it’s wednesday, july 8, moon is in aries, in the starspace called aśvinī, it’s the ninth phase of the waning moon & mercury’s day.
where your attention is being drawn
aries vibrates with the frequency of our individuality, our unique purpose for being here. as the first sign of the natural zodiac, it’s where we enter the world, take birth as our one-of-a-kind selves.
aries is the sign of sun’s exaltation. sun’s dharma is to shine, shine, shine, to cast his rays, his light, every which way, no holding back, no shrinking from his duty. as a dharma planet, he reminds us to do the same, to fulfill our duty, live our life’s purpose as if our life depended on it.
“you are one of one—unprecedented in the history of human evolution. there is only one of you. … the human chorus is incomplete without your voice.”—dave eggers
are you singing as loudly & proudly as you can? are you fully representing? are you honoring your life’s purpose?
how to direct your mental/emotional energy
aśvinī is connected to prana, our vital life force, our breath. according to the shiva svarodaya (shiva’s tête–à–tête with parvati about the breath), we breathe thirteen to fifteen times a minute, which amounts to taking 21,000 breaths in a day. with each breath we create karma, so it’s important to use our breaths well, to focus our precious life force, consciously, intentionally, efficiently.
one way to do that is to get our breath flowing evenly between both nostrils, which thus aligns us, even for a moment (!), with what is highest in us, with our divine essence.
we can do this through nadi shodhana, alternate-nostril breathing. if you need-want-desire a tutorial, here’s one—it’s just a ten-minute watch.
what supports you emotionally
the ninth lunar day (tithi), the ninth phase of the waning moon, is ruled by goddess kulasundari, aka “the most beautiful in her abode,” who has many, many hands, revealing her ability to take care of so many aspects of life, to multitask.
given that on the ninth tithi you may feel unsupported emotionally (nobody understands!), you may want to focus your prana by turning inward, staying home & getting with your skills for the homemade.
how to align with the weekday’s energy
wednesday is ruled by mercury, who gives us discriminating intelligence, curiosity & the ability to communicate, to say what we mean & mean what we say. with mercury and sun close to each other in gemini, we may find ourselves taking a lot of pride in our thoughts, but/& let’s not let that pride become, um, too prideful, & let’s not let sun make us too eager to speak.
humility & circumspection are key when it comes to using our words, now more than ever.
🌗
the daily bliss is 100% human generated! the act of creation is intrinsic to being human—when we give up our agency to create, we cease, little by little, to be fully human.
may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little (or a lot!) more bliss in your life.
