it’s thursday, january 15, & moon is in scorpio, in the starspace called jyeṣṭḥā, so we get one more day to deal with our emotional grunge, when our shadow parts come out to play & we can have a tête–à–tête with the parts of us we’d rather ignore, that make us feel ugly, perhaps even monstrous. what’s your relationship to shame? anger? jealousy? guilt? selfishness?
scorpio’s ruling planet, mars, gives us the courage to shine a light into the nooks & crannies of our psyche where our shadow lives. & mars just moved into capricorn, his sign of exaltation, where he packs a wallop.
if we have the courage to own the icky bits of ourselves & look at what they might reveal about us, we can integrate them rather than be taken down by them like a prize fighter by a knockout blow.
jyeṣṭḥā is ruled by indra, an elder among the gods, an authority figure, a—you might say—master of his universe. indra is related to the indriyas, our senses. this nakshatra brings a lesson about becoming masters of ourselves before we try to master others, exert our authority over them. to keep rising, evolving by controlling our desires rather than being controlled by them.
the last coupla degrees of jyeṣṭḥā, where moon will transit later this afternoon, can be treacherous, bring out our shadow, turn our desire for self-perfection into judgment/criticism of others for their imperfections. come on, we are all flawed, right?
it’s the thirteenth lunar day (tithi), the thirteenth phase of the waning moon, which maximizes the positive & minimizes the negative. this tithi is co-ruled by jupiter, supporting our connection to our inner wisdom, to god within (more below!).
thursday is ruled by jupiter, planet of wisdom & expansion, abundance & positivity, who helps us see the big picture, the divine forces working behind the scenes in our life, & feel into our bigness, into our connection to those forces, to the divine—to god, to the ineffable, to consciousness itself, however you want to name the unnameable.
the word enthusiasm means “to be divinely inspired,” “to be filled” (en) “with god” (theos), to experience god within.
with jupiter retrograde until march 11, we still have time to upgrade what we believe & why, to ask what’s really true, what makes us feel expansive/enthusiastic rather than contracted/apathetic.
how divinely inspired (filled with god!) do you feel? how expansive, optimistic, hopeful as a result?
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
