it’s monday, february 16, & we’ve got all day to prepare for the new moon + solar eclipse tomorrow morning (probs while you’re still sleeping & only visible from antartica—sorry!) in aquarius, in the starspace called dhaniṡṭā. new moon means sun & moon are sandwiched together, the masculine & feminine joining to create something new. eclipse means one of the nodes are in the mix, in this case rahu, blocking sun’s light. also in the mix: venus & mercury in aquarius; jupiter casting his gaze from gemini; saturn in pisces & mars in capricorn putting the squeeze on aquarius from either side.

that’s a lot! what’s it all about, alfie? well …

let me start by saying it’s been A LOT for a while, since the beginning of the year, which started with a stellium (lots) of planets in sagittarius, & not just a stellium but a combust one. which was followed by the same-same in capricorn. now we’ve got a combust stellium in aquarius (funnn!), & mars joining that party next week.

in case you haven’t noticed, many planets in one sign can bring a confusion of energy, competition among planets as each vies to fulfill its particular agenda, perhaps overconfidence as they go for olympic gold—& they aren’t always gracious good sports when they flub quad axels & don’t podium.

this can feel overwhelming—or is it just me?! are you as ready for this to be over as i am? patience, dear ones!

adding to the overwhelm, eclipses bring what’s hidden into the light, can accelerate karma by showing us where we are out of alignment so we can realign. this can feel destabilizing, especially as aquarius (& capricorn) represents our root chakra, our very foundation.

aquarius is an air sign & jupiter is sending hope, inspiration & blessings from airy gemini. air’s focus is ideas & communication; aquarius’ focus is humanity, the greater good, social movements; rahu’s focus is innovation & technology, &, yes, he is a trickster, loves to play with smoke & mirrors.

in 1969 when rahu was in aquarius, the internet was “discovered.” during super bowl LX, 100 million plus viewers “discovered”—shockingly, disconcertingly—that their ring cameras, far from protecting them, keeping them safe, were actually an amazonian surveillance army spying on their every move, revealing the total evaporation of privacy to come. it’s not every day that a secret is revealed by the secret keepers, that our wakeup call comes from those who would keep us fast asleep, but, hey, we’ll take it.

have you tossed your ring, blink, nest or arlo camera yet?

dhaniṡṭā invites us to find our personal rhythm, dance to our own beat, reveals that true abundance comes from true individuality.

rahu is in rahu-ruled śatabhiṣak, star of healing, encouraging us to think outside the box when it comes to healing ourselves or others, especially with relationshipy venus dwelling there as well.

rahu in aquarius is opposite ketu, the south node, in leo, where the lunar eclipse will be in two weeks. leo is the seat of personal power. the aquarius-leo axis invites us to make sure we’re using our power in service to humanity, rather than abusing it for personal purposes. if not, watch out—or watch more epstein (no relation!) videos for more reveals about how dark our power grid really is.

is big power going to be taken down, humbled by the awake masses? one can only hope! is AI (hello, rahu!) going to bring innovation in medicine or be used to shackle us in a digital prison forever more? let’s hope for the former! & let’s remember that hope, like prayer, is useless without taking action, that we are the ones we’ve been waiting for.

“future generations will look back at the time we are living in now. the kind of future they look from, & the story they tell about our period, will be shaped by choices we make in our lifetimes.”—from active hope, by joanna macy & chris johnstone

eclipses come in pairs (which see above), & it’s important to be with & try to extract the wisdom (hello, jupiter!) from what arises, to not make any important decisions at least until after the lunar eclipse in two weeks. (yes, it’s ok to make a dentist appt!)

especially with combust mars firing us up to impulsively “just do it,” perhaps b/c we’re all hot & bothered. yes, mars is exalted in capricorn, so acting with intelligence, but that’s only one piece of the mars puzzle. if you want to geek out on all the pieces of the mars puzzle, check out sam geppi’s recent video.

this is, as usual, a very general cosmic weather report. results will vary depending on your own chart, depending on what dasha (planetary cycle) you are running, depending on whether you’ve got planets within a degree or two of 14 degrees aquarius, where the eclipse will be, depending on whether dhaniṡṭā or śatabhiṣak are friendly stars for you or stars that bring obstacles/struggles.
but/& all this energy consolidated in one place is A LOT—pack a raincoat, carry an umbrella.
if you feel the ground beneath your feet shaking & quaking, if you feel like you are spinning out mentally, the invitation is to get into your body—go for a run, dance, step away from devices & spend time in nature, do some yoga asana, go within (i.e., meditate) to find stability rather than relying on external forces.
that’s what i’m going to do—i’ll catch back up with you on wednesday.
wishing you a most blessedly revelatory new moon + solar eclipse! may the force be with you!

& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
