it’s wednesday, august 7, & moon is in leo, in the starspace called uttaraphalguni, which will support & transport it into virgo midafternoon. the transition from leo into virgo is one from being the power on the throne to being the power behind the throne, from being center stage to being backstage. so, before we get into the nitty-gritty of what being the power behind the throne entails, we get most of the day to feel into our sovereignty, to remember that we are & always should be the boss of our own lives. when i used to try to tell one of my younger brothers what to do, he’d always push back, say, “you’re not the boss of me!” word!
uttaraphalguni (ok, it’s technically purvaphalguni until 9 a.m. MDT) is the counterpart to purvaphalguni. while purva is ruled by bhaga, the god of delight, uttara is ruled by aryaman, the god of contracts. this asterism brings a message about the blessings of delight our contracts are guaranteed if they’re based on delight, on what delights, uplifts, uplevels, all parties involved. like, for example, but not necessarily, the marriage contract.
it’s the third lunar day (tithi), the third phase of the waxing moon, until midmorning, then the fourth. the third supports nourishing what we mean to create, the fourth may make us feel unsupported, even thwarted, but just gives us an opportunity to get more creative, find work-arounds, to rise to the challenge rather than fall in the face of it, so we can grow.
wednesday is ruled by mercury, who gives us our ability to think & communicate & governs things like travel—he’s got a broad portfolio! wednesday is usually a good day to talk to people, send emails, travel or make travel plans, but with mercury now in retrograde motion, it’s best to rewind those actions & areas of life, to rethink, refrain, reduce, reuse, & recycle mental activity. it’s generally not a great time to start something new but to rework or revise what we’ve already got going on. otherwise, you might find, as i did the other night when i ignored my own counsel, that you’ve double-committed without checking your calendar, or you might pop the wrong address into your map app & get sent to the wrong location, lol!
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
