daily blissit’s thursday, september 12, & moon is in the starspace of aquarius called shatabhishak, so we’re still asking not what we can do for ourselves but we can do for our country. good day/night for, say, a democratic presidential debate, so all those candidates can share their vision for turning this country—& planet!—around. like maybe getting out of the freaking race for the #1 job cause they’re not going to win & show us they really care about our future by, say, running for senate in a state that could use another blue senator? not picking on anyone—just saying! course there are plenty of other things they could do, as stacey abrams has been so inspiringly showing us.

shatabhishak is symbolized by 100 stars & can mean 100 doctors. it’s the energy we call in when we’ve gone to 100 doctors to no avail & decide to become our own healers, decide to go off-road & try something completely unconventional but completely intuitive, completely self-empowering. my mom had a consult with an oncologist last week & i got super excited when he said he felt compelled to share info about a nontraditional treatment. oh my god, i thought, he’s going to juice-fast her & put her on a plant-based diet, do lymphatic drainage, teach her to meditate! alas, “nontraditional” to him was just a variation on the chemo theme. it’s the theme that takes agency away from patients, turns doctors into would-be magicians, the patients into spectators; shatabhishak gives us agency, encourages us to turn our innate healing power on ourselves—& then we can show others how to do the same.

wow, didn’t know i was going to go off on a chemo tangent—thank you for your patience! (& i didn’t mean to necessarily naysay chemo or criticize anyone, including my mom, who chooses to go that route—it’s how the medical culture & culture at large has conditioned us; we just don’t know any better, don’t know we can do better.)

anyhoo, it’s the fourteenth phase of the waxing moon (apologies for saying it was the fourteenth yesterday—i got a little ahead of myself b/c i am clearly psyched about the full moon in aquarius tomorrow!), so use your surgical skills to excise what it’s time to let go of—there is always something whose time has come to go, right?

thursday is jupiter’s day. jupiter is the guru, the one who brings the wisdom teachings to guide us on our path. but just as shatabhishak’s energy is about becoming our own healer, knowing that we’ve got the power within, jupiter energy is about ultimately becoming our own guru—the teachings lead back to the knowledge that we are our own best teachers.

& that’s your daily bliss! jyotish, vedic astrology, is the science of light. if you want to shine more light on your life, contact me for a session! ~.~
