it’s thursday, september 15, & moon is in taurus, in the starspace called krittika. taurus vibrates with the frequency of being happy. nothing wrong with happiness, except that it is temporal, is conditioned on getting what we want, on the circumstance of our life being just right, which comes & goes: we get a new car, say, & are thrilled, until someone dings it in the parking lot, right? ultimate happiness, being happy for no reason, is known as bliss, which chris wallis beautifully defines as “a way of experiencing & loving reality that is completely independent of circumstance.” we get to reflect on the times we have felt happy for no reason & create the awareness to choose that more consistently—we always have a choice.
krittika brings a lesson, thanks to the fire of ruling deity agni, about burning through our illusions, like, for example, that someone or something can make us truly happy.
it’s the sixth lunar day, the sixth phase of the waning moon, which means it’s a good day to celebrate our victories. it’s all too easy to beat ourselves up for what we haven’t accomplished, for all the to-dos we still haven’t checked off our lists, so let’s give ourselves a little positive reinforcement, b/c that’s a way better prod than negative reinforcement, right?
thursday is owned by jupiter, planet of our beliefs. as much as we believe in our beliefs, it’s important to remember that beliefs are not facts, they do not represent objective truths—hey, some people still insist/believe that the world is flat. some people believe that war is a solution. some people swing left in their beliefs, some right, some both ways. some people believe our government is corrupt, some think it’s the best thing since sliced bread. can we all agree that everyone is entitled to their beliefs? & that no one has a right to impose their beliefs on others, expect everyone to believe what they do? can we all be willing to have our beliefs challenged, be willing to engage in dialogue & information gathering to get clarity on whether our beliefs hold water? with jupiter & mercury now in opposition & both strong in their own signs of rulership (pisces & virgo, respectively), not to mention retrograde, which brings even more intelligence to them, that’s what we are being invited to do.
