it’s wednesday, september 18, & moon is in the starspace called bharani, which is in aries. i said quite a bit about aries yesterday, so maybe i’ll just mention that aries energy is about new beginnings, about striking out on our own, feeling our own power & sense of individuality & putting it out into the world. & that it is best done, as everything is, mindfully.
bharani means “cherishing,” “supporting,” “nourishing,” & it is represented by the yoni, the female organ of sacred sexuality—i mean what nourishes more than that, actually nurtures life into existence? sexual energy is pure creative energy & vibrates at the highest frequency of all energy. which makes sense considering that from the incubator of the yoni, the female organ of sexuality, spirit is transformed into matter, the soul takes form as a human—the sexual act itself produces life. i mean, what’s more creative than that?! try doing that with your arm—unless, of course, you are god & on your to-do list for the day is breathing the spark of life into that creature you concocted out of the dust of the earth!
bharani is, in fact, the expression of divine feminine energy, which is pure, expansive creativity, which is how sexual energy manifests. we are creative beings b/c we are sexual—& that doesn’t mean we have to actually be having sex. it’s just the energy that courses through us so that we can tap into it to create whatever it is we want to create—use it to write a book or stage an opera or make dinner from scratch. intention & focus make all the difference. for example, according to classical yoga, celibacy (aka brahmacharya, which is often interpreted today as just not sleeping with other people’s partners) is considered a virtue b/c the goal of yoga is to connect to the divine, focusing our highest-frequency energy toward that lofty purpose, not letting it spill all over the place as if it were inconsequential.
what do you want to create & how are you using your sacred powers of creation? are you being intentional? it’s good to remember that the yoni is shaped like a funnel & that celibacy was meant to funnel creative energy toward self-realization, to god (interpret god however you want!). got funnel?
it’s the fifth phase of the waning moon, which, hey, makes it a good day for creative acts—just use that energy wisely.
wednesday is ruled by mercury, so tap into your discriminating intelligence & share the results of those mental perambulations with others (bharani is great energy for incubating new ideas!).
& that’s your daily bliss! jyotish, vedic astrology, is the science of light. if you want to shine more light on your life, contact me for a session! ~.~
