it’s tuesday, september 19, & moon is in libra, in the starspace called vishakha. the environment of libra is infused with the perfume of sociability, being with others, being, as is our nature as humans, in relationship, b/c besides being fun, bumping up against other humans is how we know ourselves better. of course, we want to be with those who encourage us to be our best selves, who raise us up, upgrade our lives, help us blossom into our fullest fullness. do the people in your life do that? do you do that for the people in your life? if not, maybe you’re not really each other’s people.

vishakha means “forked,” as in a fork in the road, & is the only asterism ruled by two deities, indra & agni, the king & the priest, who represent the material & the spiritual. do we have to choose? that’s the question! do we have to choose between our spiritual evolution & earning a living? no, for how can we sit & meditate with ease if we’re worried about the roof falling in or where we’re going to get our next meal? & how can we show up for work, pursue our duties without a sense of greater purpose? in fact, in vedic times, the priest depended on the king to provide his living & the king depended on the priest to keep him on the straight & moral, to perform pujas for auspiciousness, to bless his projects. the lesson of this asterism is that we don’t have to choose between the spiritual & the material—it’s both/&.
it’s the fifth lunar day, the fifth phase of the waxing moon, which supports rituals & modalities for healing, whether ourselves or others. what would feel healing to you? how can you be a balm for others? & let’s not forget that when we heal ourselves, we do heal others.
tuesday is ruled by mars, who gives us the courage to admit when we’re wrong, stand in our integrity, rather than be a lie, hide behind a lie, which is how cowards roll.
