it’s sunday, september 20, & moon is in libra, in the starspace called swati till late morning, then in vishakha. libra is where we find harmony in our relationships, where the give & the take are in balance, like scales, or like a pendulum at rest. the scales of libra are not the scales of justice, as some may think, but the scales of a merchant, & thus represent our transactional nature. that said, i can’t help thinking about our most eminent & esteemed justice, the Notorious RBG, who just passed, & how her whole life’s work embodied the notion of equality for all, of men & women being equal in all things, neither experiencing bias toward or disadvantage b/c of their gender.
the energy of the nakshatra swati invites us to channel our thoughts & ideas toward the highest purpose we can imagine. vishakha invites us to elevate our social interactions toward a higher purpose as well, but to be measured, not to push too hard. again, i can’t help thinking of RBG, who focused all of her precious brain power on what she considered the highest purpose she could & who did so measuredly, step by step, slowly but surely, confident that she would eventually prevail. she was a brilliant & industrious & indefatigable woman & human being, incapable of being intimidated, an exemplar for all.
at one point she said that the symbol of the united states should not be an eagle but a pendulum, that when the pendulum swings too far in one direction, it swings back. may her words be the truth & may the pendulum of this country be ready to swing back. if not, i suggest that it may be time to take to the streets—in black robes & white lace collars!
it’s the fourth phase of the waxing moon, so you may experience some obstacles/challenges today. ask ganesha to help you overcome them, or ask, “what would RBG do?”
sunday is ruled by the sun, who gives us our clarity of vision, or tries to. did you know that in chinese medicine the liver meridian is connected to vision, to our ability to see clearly, with our inner eye? according to yin-master bernie clark, hip openers & twists will stimulate the liver meridian & open up this energy, allow it to flow harmoniously—so we can see clearly, as in see what’s really going on.
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a kind of lunar weather report. the moon is our consciousness & i hope that by unpacking the cosmic forces influencing it every day, you’ll be better able to understand & thus lean into its ever-changing vibrations & use them to your advantage.
