it’s wednesday, september 20, & moon is (yes, again!) in scorpio, in the starspace called anuradha. scorpio vibrates with the frequency of our deepest fears, our darkest shadow, which rises to the surface of our consciousness when we feel emotionally unstable, & scorpio is where we do, b/c moon, our consciousness, is debilitated here, isn’t functioning with max intelligence, but like the kid who never does his homework & has to repeat grades. in the dark, choppy waters of scorpio, moon can’t see shore, just gets tossed around & pummeled by wave after wave. our challenge is to go with that flow, not fight what is, to ride the waves like pro surfers, face our fears rather than get caught up in the drama they create.
“the more you surrender to the what is, the less drama you have in your life.”—manorama
anuradha is ruled by mitra, the divine friend, & means after (anu) radha (radha! krishna’s bestie!). this asterism brings a lesson about, well, taking a page from radha’s book, being the devoted, divine friend, seeing the godliness (goddessness) in the other, in all others.
it’s the sixth lunar day, the sixth phase of the waxing moon, which invites us to, like shiva’s youngest son, kartikeya, celebrate our victories. what can you celebrate today? what waves have you successfully ridden to shore? they don’t have to be waimea-size monster waves! making yourself a healthful dinner when you wanted to eat ripply potato chips, tearing yourself off the couch to go to the gym, not yelling at your kiddo when you trip over the effluvia of their toys in the living room—it all counts!
wednesday is ruled by mercury, who loves to use his discriminating intelligence to crunch data, trusts facts not rumors, believes in trial by jury not by the media, that people are innocent until proven guilty, does not believe the media, social or otherwise, has a right to shut down voices that challenge their narrative (& to pretend that’s not what they’re doing!).
“the freedom of peoples depends fundamentally on the rule of law, a fair legal system. … if you ever get trial by television or guilt by accusation, that day freedom dies.”—margaret thatcher (not my first go-to when it comes to inspiration, but mercury loves an open mind!)
may all beings everywhere be happy & free!
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
