it’s friday, september 20, & moon is in the starspace called rohini, which is in taurus. taurus is ruled by venus, who just wants us to be happy. alas, we’re not really here to be happy, we’re here to discover the truth of our existence. however, if we are going to focus on being happy, the highest expression of happiness is to be happy for no damn reason. which is dependent on groking the truth of existence. which is experienced as sublime contentment, & is what we might call bliss. b/c your garden-variety happiness is dependent on external circumstances, on certain conditions—on, say, someone telling you look beautiful or all the lights staying green as you drive down the boulevard or your favorite ice cream flavor being in stock.
rohini is ruled by brahma, the deity who created everything, as in e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g, so to say that the energy of this nakshatra is creative is a bit of an understatement. if you’re feeling the urge to, say, fill your world with beauty, & enjoy sharing it with others, go for it, but just be wary of becoming too attached to those pleasures, b/c ya know they are fleeting & b/c too much pleasure can make us lazy, dopey, enervated. not trying to be a downer, just providing a little perspective!
it’s the seventh lunar day, which is connected to lord indra, who traveled far & wide in his kingdom, so feel how free you are to travel far & wide, even if it’s only within the expanse of your mind.
friday is ruled by … venus, who is hanging out in virgo for about a month. venus, as mentioned earlier, wants us to be happy, but virgo is kinda nit-picky, so if you’re noticing all the reasons you’re not happy, you can blame venus in virgo but also connect to the higher message: happiness isn’t out there. venus in virgo is going to trader joe’s to buy peanut butter for your mother & being confronted with chunky or smooth, salted or un-, & you choose creamy unsalted, only to discover that she prefers chunky! who knew? but thank goodness my mom was not feeling her venus in virgo, that she was just grateful i bought her peanut butter & so my choosing the less-perfect option didn’t ruin her day! but it so could have!
& that’s your daily bliss! jyotish, vedic astrology, is the science of light. if you want to shine more light on your life, contact me for a session! ~.~
