it’s thursday, september 22, & moon is in cancer, in the starspace called ashlesha, until 2:30 mountain time, when it braves the gandanta, the divide between water & fire signs, to leap into leo. not only that, but it’s the fall equinox (in the northern hemisphere, spring in the southern) at sunset tonight. although it feels more like, as the poet philip larkin wrote, “autumn has caught us in our summer wear” here, still, what a day of change, of transitioning! while cancer vibrates with the frequency of the divine feminine, leo vibrates with the frequency of the divine masculine, so we will be experiencing polar opposites of energy today, & that shift from our queenly to our kingly essence can feel destabilizing, can feel whiplashy. it’s important to really ground into our heart & carry that into leo; for the masculine is strengthened by the feminine, & vice versa.

ashlesha (see yesterday’s post for more) is the last nakshatra of cancer; where it ends so does cancer. as mentioned above, this is a gandanta, an abrupt border, where there is no starry bridge to support moon’s crossing over. b/c moon is our mind/consciousness, this means that our mind/consciousness doesn’t feel supported, & that can facilitate volatility. the gandanta is a karmic knot, which ends the process of creation & dissolution that starts with fire signs (in this case aries) & ends with water signs (in this case cancer). & ashlesha can embrace like the knottiest knot! what karma do you get to release, untangle yourself from?

it’s the twelfth lunar day, the twelfth phase of the waning moon, which is related to the sun, who gives us consistent energy & the clarity to see where we’re going: if we aren’t paying attention, aren’t looking where we’re going, we can end up anywhere!

thursday is owned by jupiter, who gives us grace. “the act of grace is about showing you who you really are,” says chris wallis. “through grace, your individuality can be experienced as a beautifully unique expression of the pattern of the whole.” or, as rikka zimmerman says, grace is the joy of just being you: “any time someone asks you ‘why?’ the answer is, ‘for the joy of being me!'” i would add, if i may, that grace is an act of surrender, of allowing, of just being.

& that’s your daily bliss! which is a of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss. may it inspire you to enlighten up a little more each day.
