it’s sunday, september 22, & moon is in the starspace called ardra, which is in gemini. gemini invites us to pursue our interests, especially intellectual ones or especially in an intellectual manner, like doing more research/study on something that sparks our imagination or pondering a new approach to, say, an art project. but then gemini wants to talk about it, wants us to share the insights we’ve unpacked, wants us to spread the knowledge, in this way creating connection with others. b/c it’s fun—that’s how gemini rolls!
ardra is ruled by rudra, the god of storms & a form of shiva, aka the energy of transformation. some say destruction, which is not untrue, but just casts perhaps too much shade on shiva. b/c he brings change to our lives so that we can transform, so that we can evolve, not to make us suffer or suffer unnecessarily. if we’re not nudged (or, alas, sometimes pushed!), we’re probably not going to budge—we’re going to stay right where we are, life would be one forever groundhog day. with change often comes tears, which can blur our perspective—i mean, how hard is it to look through the windshield when it’s being assailed by sheets of rain?—but when we’ve had a good cry, when the storm is over, the world looks brighter, we’ve purged & are calm enough to see things more clearly. so go ahead & have a good, cleansing cry today & see if you don’t feel a sense of renewal afterward, see if those tears don’t bring some fresh insight.
it’s the ninth lunar day, which is related to sarpa (serpent) energy, which means the potential to get sideswiped by toxic emotions—watch your steps! watch your words! know your triggers!
sunday is, natch, the sun’s day. the sun, like the storms of ardra, brings purification, clarifies our vision, & since it’s the first day of the week this allows us to set our intentions for the week. which is something i often forget to do, so a great good reminder for me & you!
