it’s wednesday, september 27, & moon is in aquarius, in the starspace called shatabhishak. under the sway of aquarius, we realize that what’s in the best interests of all is in our own best interest as well & so we want to selflessly serve, perhaps by volunteering, perhaps by doing humongous tapas & sharing our lessons of redemption, thus enlightening others up. the sage valmiki, who was once a thief called ratnakara, spent years & years repenting for his sins, purifying his soul, meditating with so much devotion that ants covered him with mud & built their nests on him (valmiki means “ant hill”). when he emerged from his tapas, brahma tasked him with writing the ramayana. did brahma care that he’d once been a thief, judge him for his past, treat him like a pariah? whaddya think? was the ramayana banned, valmiki defunded, b/c of his sins? were mlk or jfk perfect? did they still contribute greatly to the world, enlighten it up? one wonders if mlk or jfk would’ve been demonitized by yootube b/c they were promiscuous, adulterous! what would our world be like today if they had been? what would our world be like without the ramayana?
shatabhishak means “100 healers” & is ruled by varuna, who can bring on calamities like sin, debt & disease & also remove them. hmmm, why would he do that? why does ganesh operate in a similar way? b/c maybe we grow stronger, become more fully ourselves, when we have to overcome obstacles, do a little tapas, like valmiki, heal what ails us, whether it’s our body, mind or spirit. whaddya think?
it’s the thirteenth lunar day, the thirteenth phase of the waxing moon, which supports desire & happiness, the sensual pleasures of life. it’s a good day to do what you love with the ones you love—go for a walk in nature with them, cook with them, listen to music with them. or go solo if you’re the one you love best today!
wednesday is ruled by mercury, planet of communication, who believes 100% in 100% free speech, b/c, as noam chomsky said, “if we don’t believe in freedom of expression for people we despise, we don’t believe in it at all.” do you or don’t you? do you believe anyone—big tech, the government—has the right to muzzle the voices of people whose views they find inconvenient or distasteful?
