it’s friday, september 27, & moon is in the starspace called purva phalguni until midday mountain time, then moves into uttara phalguni. purva p is fully in leo; uttara p starts in leo but is mostly in virgo & the moon will move into the virgo portion around dinnertime (if you eat on the earlier side, as i do). which means: we will be segueing from ruling our kingdom (leo) from a big picture perspective to dealing with the minutiae (virgo) that keeps it running smoothly—it’s all well & fine to build a castle, but somebody has to dust it!
purva phalguni is ruled by bhaga & uttara phalguni by aryaman & both asterisms are symbolized by a bed. bhaga brings luck & good fortune; aryaman brings prosperity through marriage. purva p wants us to relax a little, take a little rest from our soul’s journey, maybe snuggle up with our beloved in that cozy bed & enjoy some connubial bliss. aryaman sees the fruit of that connubial bliss as an offering to the ancestors—b/c in vedic times, the greatest wealth we could accumulate was children, the continuation of the lineage. this doesn’t mean we have to procreate today, i mean procreate children, just that it’s a good day to take a timeout then commit to our future, as we would to our beloved on our wedding day.
it’s the fourteenth lunar day (new moon tomorrow!), so time to let go of what doesn’t serve you, of what you don’t want to take into the next lunar cycle, which is a virgo one, which means lots of attention to the details of life. if you’re not sure how to do that, channel marie kondo—she is as ruthless as any virgo when it comes to separating the wheat from the chaff, the junk from the useful & beautiful. if something doesn’t bring joy to your life, allow it to vibrate at the highest frequency, maybe it’s time to let it go.
friday is ruled by venus, who happens to be hanging out in virgo right now (along with mercury & mars, the sun & now the moon). venus wants to be happy, enjoy life; virgo has a tendency to point out the reasons we shouldn’t be happy, to reveal the flaws in our perspective, the kinks in the works. but with all the other planetary energies, it should be easier to view your friends & other loved ones through glasses of appreciation rather than judgment, & mercury should keep things light & fun. yay!
