it’s wednesday, september 2, & moon is in aquarius, in the starspace called purvabhadra. aquarius is the sign of the humanitarian. in order to care about the world, to want to improve it, we have to have hope, not blind optimism, but hope. service is always a path to hope & there is no better time than the present for each of us to serve. as roshi joan halifax recently said, “apathy is unacceptable now.” if you know people who are apathetic about, say, voting, you could do no better service than to inspire them to step up. &, hey, if you want to do more, you can staff your local polling place on november 3, as i’m going to!
purvabhadra is connected to the lightning strike of inspiration that reveals our true nature. what is our true nature? that we are spiritual beings having a human experience. that we are individual aspects of the universal. that we are all one. how would you act if you realized that your actions impacted the whole? would you take more or less responsibility for the world you live in? discuss amongst yourselves!
it’s the first phase of the waning moon, which is ruled by brahma, the creator of the universe. today is a good day to enter into a new phase of your own life or to start a new project that brings new life to yourself, expands your world.
wednesday is owned by mercury, who just moved into virgo, one of the signs he rules, which means he’s feeling very at home, very grounded, in his element. which means that our inner mercury is feeling pretty strong right now. so now is a great good time to use your words, your techno abilities, your curiosity, your ability to do more than one thing at a time to attend to the details of your life, especially if they support healing in some way. personally, i always feel better when i’m not buried under papers & i actually know how much $ i have in my checking account—organizing your life can be an act of healing.
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a kind of lunar weather report. the moon is our consciousness & i hope that by unpacking the cosmic forces influencing it every day, you’ll be better able to understand & thus lean into its ever-changing vibrations & use them to your advantage.
