it’s friday, september 4, & moon is still in pisces in the starspace called uttarabhadra until noon, then moves into revati. pisces is where we feel our connection to all that is, where our cosmic self holds sway over our material self. hopefully that gives us perspective, allows us to be both more fully human & more fully spiritual. but it can also lead to totally letting go, to the desire to merge into the absolute through drugs or sex or alcohol. which, um, doesn’t really work, as many have discovered—those things make us unconscious not more deeply conscious.

uttarabhadra, as i mentioned yesterday (see yesterday’s post for more), brings commitment to attain a metaphysical goal. revati brings us full circle. it is ruled by the deity pushan, the shepherd, the one who guides us home. revati offers an opportunity to take stock of the lessons we have learned on this recent journey through the zodiac, to see what challenges have been presented to us, how we have met them, & how we have grown in the process.

it’s the third phase of the waning moon, which invites us to be flexible, to reorient if we’ve gone off course, to think outside the box if the way we’ve been doing something hasn’t worked. what adjustments can you make so your life or project runs more smoothly, so you can achieve your desired outcome?

friday is owned by venus, who wants us to enjoy, be in joy. friday is considered date night, but in the jewish tradition friday evening is the beginning of the sabbath, a time to take a step back from worldly busyness & nourish the soul, to light candles & share a meal or day with family & friends, to enjoy the simple things in life. &, hey, it’s considered a mitzvah, a good deed, in the jewish tradition to make love on the sabbath—in fact it is written that married people have to, & not once but four times! what’s more joyful than that? even if you don’t celebrate the sabbath, i invite you to consider what truly nourishes your soul & do more of that. maybe put the kibosh on one electronic device or appliance (or, hey, go crazy & totally unplug, as i do sometimes!)—no email or no laundry, for example—& see how it feels.

& that’s your daily bliss! which is a kind of lunar weather report. the moon is our consciousness & i hope that by unpacking the cosmic forces influencing it every day, you’ll be better able to understand & thus lean into its ever-changing vibrations & use them to your advantage.
