it’s monday, september 5, & moon is in sagittarius, in the starspace called purvashadha. jupiter-ruled sagittarius vibrates with the frequency of the hopefulness & grace that come from the guru (which is jupiter’s sanskrit name)—from our teachers & wisdom teachings—which allows us to zoom out & get a big-picture perspective on our life. but we don’t want to zoom so far out that we lose total perspective, so we look to the sign opposite, in this case gemini, ruled by mercury, planet of details & discriminating intelligence, for balance. gemini holds our teachers & teachings accountable, encourages us to make sure they are the true-true, that they are taking us in the right direction, toward greater self-knowing, greater truth, more authenticity. & we get to take advantage of the fact that jupiter is now in pisces & mercury in virgo, both strong in their home signs & strongly gazing at each other in opposition, shining their light on each other, sharing their unique intelligence with each other.

purvashadha can be translated as “that which is invincible” & is ruled by the goddess apah, who is a bit of a mystery, as the vedic texts don’t mention her much. there is a quality of secrecy & shyness about this asterism, which brings a lesson about what we are hiding from the world, what gift we are shy about revealing & sharing. we are invited to tap into & trust the mystery of what wants to be revealed, what must be revealed, of what invincibly wants to be manifested in & through us.

it’s the tenth lunar day, the tenth phase of the waxing moon, which is related to dharma, our innate desire to express the truth of who we are, known in shaiva tantra as “iccha-shakti,” which chris wallis defines as “a precognitive creative urge toward self-expression.” this desire of the divine will has no purpose other than “the joy inherent in the act of self-expression,” & when we surrender to it, fulfill our dharma, it is effortless & actually nourishes rather than drains us.

monday is owned by the moon, who gives us our powers of intuition, of heart-knowing. “the only real valuable thing is intuition,” said albert einstein, who knew a thing or two about tapping into & trusting his. how much do you trust & value yours?

& that’s your daily bliss! which is a of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss. may it inspire you to enlighten up a little more each day.
