it’s tuesday, september 7, & moon is moving from leo into virgo late this morning while being supported, transported, by the starspace called uttaraphalguni. leo vibrates with the sattvic frequency of our sovereign power, virgo with the tamasic frequency of “eeegads, if we don’t repair the mortar in our castle walls, they’re going to crumble.” leo is vision, virgo practicality.
uttaraphalguni is ruled by aryaman, the deity who blesses our contracts, as long as they are drawn up from a place of love, with the highest interests of both parties upheld. this asterism is the counterpart to purvaphalguni (see yesterday’s post for more): first comes love, then comes marriage. but love & marriage do not have to be in play, just an exalted mutual interest that leads to commitment (keyword: commitment), which the divine then waves a magic wand over.

it’s the first lunar day, the first phase of the waxing moon, which means it’s the official new moon. i say “official” b/c i did talk about the new moon yesterday, getting ahead of the curve, b/c i was sooooo excited about the confluence of high venus energy accompanying this cycle, & b/c you can’t start thinking about the next lunar cycle too soon, so you can hit the ground running with your intentions for what you want to manifest as the moon waxes.
to wit: new moon in leo is about delighting in our power, but not in an egotistical way. if we don’t INjoy what we do, we’re not going to do it well, we’re not going to bring our best self, & when it comes to kingly leo energy, we’re not going to rule with compassion, connection, creativity & collaboration. which is the ideal.
moon in leo, our individual kingdoms/communities, was opposite sun in aquarius, the world. building a better world starts with building better communities—if each of us starts with our own circle, the ripples will be felt globally, eventually but inevitably. so ponder that as you do your moon work this month!
mars infuses tuesday with his fiery energy, which might feel a little frustrated right now, so make sure you don’t accidentally explode on someone. pause. count to ten. redirect.
