it’s wednesday, september 8, & moon is in virgo, in the starspace called hasta. virgo vibrates with the frequency of details details details. mercury, who rules this sign, gives us the ability to pay attention to & reflect on them & then the organizational powers to develop protocols & routines to keep us safe, healthy, thriving. with mercury at home in his home sign of virgo now, his IQ is through the roof, which means so is our ability to be practical & discerning. hasta means “hand” & i love this asterism (full disclosure: my moon is here so i’m a little biased!) b/c it reminds us that we are not the doers, that what we manifest & offer into the world—whether a leaf, a flower, fruit, water, birdseed, art or love—is a gift from, the work of, the divine, that we are but the vehicles.
it’s the second lunar day, the second phase of the waxing moon, which also reminds us of the connection between creativity & the divine. when we are connected to source, are in the flow of our god nature, our powers of creativity know no bounds. & who wants to be bound?!
wednesday is alive with the spirit of mercury, who is that part of us that wants to gather facts, or, um, information & then use our discriminating intelligence to decide what’s fact & what’s fiction. it can be harder than hard these days to parse true from false b/c financial & political agendas infuse & confuse the downloads from government & the media. can anyone tell me, for example. why private money, rather than our taxes, funds the CDC? the WHO?* yes, it seems that we are all super challenged to collect unbiased data, to get behind the messages from on high. &, yes, “unbiased data” sounds like an oxymoron, but it’s not, b/c even data is skewed, can be spun every which way to make any point, does not exist in a vacuum; experiments carried out to accrue data might not actually clear the scientific bar, but how are we the people to know?
