it’s thursday, september 8, & moon is in capricorn, in the starspace called dhanishtha. capricorn’s strength is the perseverance & commitment & discipline to do what needs doing to achieve our earthly goals. which is all well & fine, & necessary, but we can get so nose-to-the-grindstone that we forget why our goals matter, & so we look to the sign opposite, cancer, which reminds us to stay connected to our heart, that our goals are meant to bring us peace not stress, are meant to bring us more connection to the ones we love rather than turn us into antisocial workaholics. we are reminded that work is the means, not the end.

dhanishtha means “wealthiest” & is symbolized by a drum, like the damaru shiva holds in his left hand (see pic), with which he created the sounds that manifested the universe. drums are also hollow; their hollowness = receptivity, the ability to receive inspiration & then alchemize it into wealth, abundance. this asterism brings a lesson about how we experience/perceive/allow abundance into our life & create more of it. hint: the more abundant we feel, the more abundance we will generate; it’s like earning passive income, an investment that keeps on giving.

it’s the thirteenth lunar day, the thirteenth phase of the waxing moon (are you feeling the build to the full moon yet?!), which is related to kamadeva, the hindu god of love & desire. he is depicted as wielding a bow & arrow, his bow made of sugarcane & his arrows embellished with five kinds of fragrant flowers. who brings sweetness to your life, improves the fragrance of your atmosphere? whose life do you make sweeter & more fragrant? it’s a great good day to share the sweetness & fragrance with the ones you love!

thursday is ruled by jupiter, whose sanskrit name is guru. the guru is the one who removes (ru) darkness (gu), the veil of yuckiness, of ignorance, that prevents us from perceiving the true-true, the truth of our existence, our reason for being (which we’ll get into at another time). anyone or anything can do that, be the gurus in our life, bring wisdom—spiritual teachers, friends, an encounter with a stranger, a pleasant or unpleasant experience; all we have to do is be open to receiving, become aware that every moment is an opportunity to peel back the veil.

& that’s your daily bliss! which is a of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss. may it inspire you to enlighten up a little more each day.
