it’s thursday, october 9, & moon moves from aries into taurus about 2 p.m. MDT while being supported & transported by the starspace called kṛttikā. whereas aries is fiercely bold & independent, taurus is gently comfortable & pleasure-oriented. fiery aries is associated with dharma, with doing & achieving, with truth; earthy taurus is associated with artha, with acquiring, amassing, with value. aries doesn’t care about being loved, taurus does. aries is symbolized by a ram, who charges forward with head down, not looking where he’s going. his horns able to withstand high-speed impacts, he may not be aware of any mess he might leave in his wake. taurus is symbolized by a bull, not a bull provoked to fight in an arena for the pleasure (!?) of a crowd, but the ferdinand kind of gentle bull who just wants to loll around & smell the flowers.
under the sway of aries, we are good with being uncomfortable if it means honoring our dharmic path, so more time to charge ahead today, but do try to look up occasionally, to not be self-absorbed to the point of destruction.

kṛttikā (fyi for early-ish morning readers: moon is in bharaṇī until 8:30 a.m. MDT, so see yesterday’s post for bharaṇī) is ruled by agni, the god of sacred fire, who burns up & purifies, which can involve destruction, but destruction of what doesn’t serve, like negativity, limiting beliefs. fire lights up darkness so we can see the light of truth, brings clarity & integrity. moon is exalted (most intelligent) in this asterism, so truths about ourselves may be revealed.
it’s the third lunar day (tithi), the third phase of the waning moon, until about 11:30 a.m. MDT, then the fourth. the third tithi supports us in being as flexy as gumby, as bendy as a limbo dancer: how low can you go? the fourth tithi supports us in meeting obstacles & embracing them as opportunities, as gifts, rather than going head-to-head with them, resisting what is, railing against it. after all, the only way through is through.
thursday is ruled by jupiter, the cosmic teacher, who gives us wisdom, which gives us optimism, hope, b/c it helps us see the bigger picture, get some perspective, to grok that everything is unfolding for our benefit, that the universe has our back.
