it’s monday, october 6, & moon is in pisces. in the starspace called uttarabhādra until late afternoon, but/& will be full in revatī, peaking at 9:47 MDT. full moon in pisces means sun is opposite, in virgo, where new moon was two weeks ago, inviting us to integrate those lessons, bring them to a culmination.

the full moon closest to the autumn equinox is known as the harvest moon, b/c it rises soon after the sun sets, shining bright as bright (actually 30% brighter) in the early evening, which traditionally helped farmers harvest their late summer crops.

new moon in virgo, which is symbolized by a young maiden carrying a sheaf of just-harvested wheat or corn, invited us to grow our power by facing obstacles & challenges, doing tapas.

this full moon is also known as sharad purnima, which is said to be the most spiritually charged full moon of the year & offers blessings of health, wealth & divine energy, like lakshmi herself, who is associated with this full moon.

what are you harvesting?

pisces is where we forget our own stories, go beyond the words we use to tell them, & connect to the timeless part of us, the part of us connected to something way bigger than ourselves, to cosmic consciousness.

“i didn’t have religion, & i didn’t do team sports, & for a long time orchestra had been the only place where i felt like part of something bigger than i was, where i was able to strive & at the same time forget myself,” elif batuman writes in the idiot.

revatī offers nourishment, refuge, guidance—the inner kind, the kind we feel into, that can’t be put into words.

in the D20 chart of our spiritual progress, both sun & moon will be dwelling in the division presided over by goddess varahi, who has the face of a boar. bristly boars, while far from pretty, have the superpower of sniffing out, finding things buried deep underground, things we’re not aware of or have forgotten, which might be shadow parts of ourselves or gifts.

also in the mix: ketu & venus kissing close in pūrvaphālgunī, where ketu is disrupting/disentangling relationships & finances/money. saturn retrograde & rahu both in pūrvabhādra, bring opportunities to complete karmic lessons, let go of patterns trying to keep us stuck, hold us back.

what allows you to forget your small self, connect to your true bigness, to something greater than yourself? what’s holding you back?

varahi brings liberation by helping us overcome pride, i.e., our ego, helps us get over ourselves, sniff out & snuff out what doesn’t serve our highest self.

the cooling, rejuvenating properties of this full moon can calm the nervous system & balance emotions, make our transformation & purification easeful.

why not get outside & be bathed by that lunar brilliance tonight? what’s the best that could happen?

& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
