it’s tuesday, may 26, moon is in virgo, in the starspace called hastā, it’s the eleventh phase of the waxing moon, mars’ day & my internet is back after three-plus days without.

virgo time is time to pay attention to our routines & habits, the ones that are foundational to our life, keep us healthy, keep us out of debt, keep a roof over our head & food in our fridge. virgo time is time to clean up, tidy up our act, make self- & home improvements, uplevel habits & routines for exercise, diet, meditation, finances, etc.

“when choosing a new habit many people seem to ask themselves, ‘what can i do on my best days?’ the trick is to ask, ‘what can i stick to even on my worst days?’ start small. master the art of showing up. scale up when you have the time, energy & interest.”—james clear (who knows a thing or two about habits!)

which of your habits could use a facelift? what’s doable now?

hastā is the handy star, puts the power & skill to create, to manifest, to heal in our hands, our hastās. hastā is ruled by savitur, the sun, whose rays, whose life-giving light & warmth, extend generously outward. this nakshatra brings a lesson about sharing our gifts, our light with open palms, without attachment—i.e., without greed or, say, the need to be lauded. savitur gives us clarity, a more positive outlook by shining a light on our darkness, any negativity, like self-doubt.

how can you accentuate the positive & offer your gifts to the world?

the eleventh lunar day (tithi), the eleventh phase of the waxing moon, fosters good spiritual habits. doing our spiritual work, doing what’s hard, like sitting on a meditation cushion, creates tapas, inner heat, which purifies us from the inside out (& how virgo loves purity!), facilitates transformation, eases us beyond our perceived limitations.

tapas is, according to swami satchidananda, self-discipline, not self-torture, right effort, not more effort.

how can you make right effort to create better spiritual habits?

tuesday invites us into the energy of mars, our inner action hero, who is on fire these days b/c he is in his home sign of aries. the key word is inner. mars at his most intelligent, which he is now, gives us the courage & discipline (!) to do tapas (!), to burn up our limiting beliefs & negative habits (whether physical or mental).

one negative habit i’m working on (fngers x’d!) is to stop turning situations into problems, which we do, according to osho, to avoid love-joy-happiness. why do we do that?!

& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
