it’s thursday, august 7, &, as i write, moon is just about to move into capricorn while being supported & transported by the starspace called uttarāṣaḍha. whereas sagittarius is ruled by wise & inspirational jupiter, capricorn is ruled by serious & practical saturn. capricorn is the tenth house of the natural zodiac, which is known as the karma bhava, the house (bhava) of action & responsibility (karma). capricorn is where we take the business of our life seriously, where we take practical action steps to ground our inspiration, make our dream real & tangible, & saturn gives us persistence & determination to make it so.

uttarāṣaḍha is the counterpart to yesterday’s pūrvāṣāḍha. āṣaḍha means “victory,” pūrva = “early,” uttara = later—together they make us invincible. achieving victory, accomplishing a goal, bringing our vision/inspo down to earth, fully realizing it is a two-step process. this asterism is ruled by the visvadevas, who represent all the universal gods, all the directions, all the powers available to us, all the support we need. it gives us myriad gifts & skills, but sometimes we need help, need to outsource or delegate.

as this asterism’s planetary ruler is the sun, who is fiercely independent & purpose driven (shines, shines, shines), we can feel that we have to go it alone—b/c we are afraid to ask for help or don’t know how or b/c we think we can do it better than anyone else, maybe b/c we think we’ll look weak or incompetent. maybe we can do it better, maybe we do know better, but/& the lesson here is about the power of alliances, about teaming up, about being the hub of a wheel, as the sun is the hub of our solar system whose rays extend in all directions.

a wheel isn’t a wheel without spokes.

who are your spokes? what support could you use? how can you delegate to realize your dream? what does your dream team look like?

it’s the fourteenth lunar day (tithi), the fourteenth phase of the waxing moon, which resonates well with jupiter, who connects us to our higher purpose. this tithi invites us to ponder what isn’t serving our highest purpose, what we can toss into the sacrificial fire in preparation for the full moon.

thursday is ruled by jupiter, the cosmic teacher, so it’s a good day to honor those who have passed down their wisdom to us, in person or not.

& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
