it’s thursday, april 2, moon is in virgo, in the starspace called citrā, it’s the first phase of the waning moon & jupiter’s day.

virgo is where the full moon was last night and is still shining brightly, illuminating the practical, material dimensions of our life, which can be boring, can be tedious (except for virgos!), but keep our life from unraveling. virgo wants us to dot i’s & cross t’s, to make to-do lists & do, do, do.

the shadow side of virgo is perfectionism, constantly seeing everything that’s wrong & not being able to stop doing until we get it right, which is a losing battle. “perfectionism is the voice of the oppressor,” says anne lamott. it’s the relentless harang of our inner critic, keeping us in a forever state of feeling incomplete, flawed, less than.

let’s tell our inner critics to stand in the corner!

citrā is ruled by tvashtar, who created things that were both beautiful & useful, aesthetically pleasing & practical, & invites us to do the same.

“there are no perfect [!] conditions under which to create art, so don’t wait for them. there will always be constraints—time, budget, materials & equipment. if you’re waiting for all of the roadblocks to be cleared before you begin, you might be waiting all your life. so stop waiting. just do your best to put something into the world that wasn’t there yesterday.”—maggie smith

if you’ve been waiting to start, to create something, to put something out into the world, if your critical mind has been keeping you in limbo, just start. what’s the best that could happen?

the first lunar day (tithi), the first phase of the waning moon, is ruled by goddess kameshwari, the goddess of love/ desire (kama = “desire”; ishwari = “goddess”), the creative force of the universe in her purest form. she makes us aware of our truest true desire, brings our yearning to the surface, gives us clarity around it, dispels our confusion.

what do you truly desire? love is a powerful force. where is the gravity of love pulling you, what is compelling you?

thursday is ruled by jupiter, who gives us our beliefs, which are internalized assumptions or convictions about what is true. our beliefs shape our principles, which are actionable, guide our behavior & decision-making. beliefs aren’t necessarily based on facts, which see believing, having the conviction that war in iran is winnable (or, perhaps worse, is for the greater good!), will be a quick in-out affair, & the behavior/actions/decisions that keep on giving.

if your beliefs aren’t creating a paradigm for the reality you want to see, for the world you want to live in, best to check your facts.

& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
