it’s tuesday, december 30, & moon is in aries, in the starspace called bharanī. aries is ruled by courageous & hard-charging mars (& it’s his day) & is symbolized by a hard-charging ram—”ram,” as in putting your head down & just going for it, having some idea of where you’re going but not looking up to make sure you’re still on track, to make sure you haven’t wreaked destruction in your wake, stepped on someone’s toes, destroyed property. do look where you’re going!
bharanī derives from the sanskrit verb that means “to bear,” as in bearing children, bearing the consequences of our actions, like, um, bearing children, who need to be fed & clothed & educated & comforted, etc., etc., etc., & is ruled by yama, who is, yes, the god of death. so this nakshatra is related to both life & death, transition states. yama is also the lord of dharma; he judges our actions in this lifetime to decide on our next incarnation, how we are going to reap the consequences of unresolved karma in this lifetime.
taking responsibility for the consequences of our actions today—apologize if you step on someone’s toes, make reparations—is a win for our tomorrow.
it’s the eleventh lunar day (tithi), the eleventh phase of the waxing moon, when our mind is its least bizzy & buzzy, the least ADHD, the least distractable, & thus its most receptive. receptive to what? to an experience of our divine nature, our god nature, our buddha nature, to remembering who we are, which can only come in stillness, when we are at peace, in a state of equanimity. which is why we meditate & why this tithi loves meditation.
“peace involves the cessation of the torturous ego activity, with its hopes, & desires, efforts & resistances. that is why it is often equated with ego death. peace is actually both death & life in the same consciousness.”—a.h. almaas
can you stop torturing yourself & find at least a few minutes today to peace-out (& -in)?
tuesday is ruled by mars, who gives us courage, discipline & physical strength to take action, both in the external world & our internal world.
mars & the eleventh tithi vibe well together, make beautiful music, the one plus the other creating an amrita yoga, a combo that produces nectar, the nectar of immortality, gives us a taste of our true nature (which see above). go high (act righteously, dharmically) with mars if you want to sip on that nectar.
& remember that mars is our inner yogi—he helps us moves energy through our body so we can sit on our cushion & meditate. just saying!
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
