it’s thursday, december 4, & we have a full moon in taurus, in the starspace called rohiṇī. this full moon brings the fulfillment, the completion, of the cycle, the process that started with the new moon two weeks ago in scorpio. taurus is moon’s happiest place (yay!), scorpio her unhappiest (nay!). scorpio is the storm, taurus the calm after it.
scorpio is where all our fears & insecurities get churned up, rise to the surface of our mind, like the poison that rose to the surface during the churning of the milk ocean. guess what? the nectar (amrita) rose after the poison got skimmed off. the ocean that got churned way back when is a metaphor for our mind, reminds us that the nectar always rises after we skim off, deal with our poisons, aka our fears & insecurities.
rohiṇī is ruled by prajapati, who created the world by dividing his body but never lost his essence, & brings a lesson about our infinite creative potential. this asterism brings the power to grow & nourish, both ourselves & whatever we mean to manifest, to expand spiritually &/or materially. alas, prajapati fell in love with one of his own creations, rohiṇī herself, which caused an uproar in the heavens, made the other asterisms jealous. we get to beware who, what & how we magnetize, to make sure we use our shakti for the sake of love, not lust, for the sake of self-development/-expansion, not greed.
earthy taurus grounds us, stabilizes our mind, brings a sense of security. ruling planet venus, who is aspecting moon from directly across the way in scorpio, heart-ens by reminding us of the good things in life—art, beauty, love, compassion—encouraging us to be in the flow of joy, that joy is a remedy for what might ail us.
also in the mix: passionate, courageous mars, in full courage mode in his home sign of scorpio, is also gazing at the moon. as is saturn, from pisces, who has moved forward (with mercury). yes, he still imposes boundaries, wants us to take our life seriously, still wants us to slow our roll, but/& we have at least been unstuck from whatever area of life pisces represents for each of us.
the journey from new to full moon is one of transforming darkness to light, powerlessness to power, fearfulness to fearlessness.
what has been churned up? what poison still needs to be skimmed off so you can experience—IN-joy!—your own nectar? what changes, even teensy, tiny ones, are calling for you to make? what do you want to create?
how can you hold your challenges with compassion so you can transform & transcend them?
wishing you a most glorious & fruitful full moon!
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
