it’s monday, march 2, moon is in leo, it’s purnima, the full moon, & we have a lunar eclipse from about 2 a.m.MST tonight until an hour after sunrise in the starspace called pūrvaphālgunī.
full moon in leo means sun is opposite in aquarius, the lunar eclipse that rahu is with sun in aquarius & ketu with moon in leo. this lunar/eclipse cycle began with the new moon/solar eclipse two weeks ago in aquarius/dhaniṣṭā.
the aquarius-leo axis highlights the relationship between our sense of societal/cultural responsibility & our personal power. ideally we wield our power with at least a sense of how it impacts, for better or worse, the world around us if not actually to make a positive impact. with rahu in aquarius, the scales are tipped toward that end of the axis. rahu is desire incarnate, is both innovative & mischievous, even innovatively mischievous, & he (& airy aquarius) loves technology.
for example, while everyone’s attention was riveted friday on our latest illegal war* (mars square uranus & sun conjunct rahu couldn’t have been more explosive!) based on absurd lies—like [fill in the blank] has WMD’s—oracle got the green light from our government to run generative AI on federal government data & grok to process top-secret intelligence data.
what does that mean for us? surveillance, surveillance, surveillance. it’s the next big move in the big control-grid game of connecting the dots between what we eat & buy to which medications we take to where we travel—to the government knowing everything it wants to know about us. we may think we have nothing to hide, but our nothing is ours to hide, & the supreme court has sanctioned our right to privacy.
(don’t forget: your ring/blink/nest/arlo cameras are recording everything! alexa’s ears are always open! all that data does not disappear—is, in fact, more valuable than even gold, which is $5,000+ an ounce right now.)
ketu in leo is humbling us (well, not all of us!), inspiring us to check our egos (well, not all of us!) at the door, to lead quietly, through our righteous, not self-righteous, example.
pūrvaphālgunī is ruled by bhaga, god of prosperity & IN-joyment. his name can be translated as “delight” & is related to the sanskrit word bhoga, which means “pleasure” or “indulgence.”
tomorrow is the appearance day of goddess laxmi, who was magnetized immediately to vishnu when she emerged from the milk ocean—she knew he was the one & threw a garland around his neck to claim him. talk about trusting in the powerful feminine!
it is also the hindu holiday of holi, which celebrates the pastimes of radha & krishna, the dance between sun (krishna) & moon (radha), the small “s” self (moon) & the big “s” self (sun), of the individual soul’s (radha/moon’s) desire to become one with god (krishna/sun).
eclipses are powerful growth opportunities, they bring what’s hidden (what we hide from ourselves, what others hide from us) to light. sun shining a light on leo/pūrva p is bringing enlightenment to those areas of life.
that’s A LOT & the planetary energy has been A LOT since before the solar eclipse, & that sun-rahu conjunction + mars squaring uranus on friday was no joke—it took me out!
what’s been arising? what are you sitting with?
what does being a private person versus a public one mean to you, being autonomous versus responsible to others?
are you setting an example by being the best you can be?
do you have your eyes on a prize, on a goal, like laxmi? are you as committed to it as she was?
is what gives you pleasure bringing prosperity—i.e., what you truly want—or is it bringing overindulgence that leaves you with an emotional/physical hangover?
do you want to be the sugar (krishna) or taste the sugar (radha)?
what do you get to release as the moon releases its light, begins to wane? what have you completed?
there are no easy answers, but eclipses are the perfect time to stop, look & listen within, which is where our inner oracle will reveal the answers.
