The Sky’s the Limit

it’s wednesday, june 3, moon is in sagittarius, in the starspace called pūrvāṣāḍha until about 1:30 p.m. MDT, then uttarāṣāḍha, it’s the third phase of the waning moon until about 10 a.m. MDT, then the fourth, & it’s mercury’s day—that’s a lot of shifting cosmic weather.

 

focus of attention

sagittarius, ruled by expansive & optimistic jupiter, expands our sense of possibility, makes us think the sky’s the limit, but not in a delusional way—in an “if i can dream it, i can build it” kinda way. sag invites us to dream bigly, let our inspiration soar.

mental/emotional direction

pūrvāṣāḍḥa and uttarāṣāḍha are, as you can probs tell, related, like siblings. pūrvāṣāḍḥa means “early victory,” uttarāṣāḍha “latter victory.” pūrva initiates, uttara finishes. winning a battle isn’t one & done—it takes committed effort. pūrva is where we plant a seed, uttara is where we water it. &, yes, we’re talking about growing a dream into reality.

how committed are you to your project? what kind of effort will take it to the finish line?

 

emotional support

the fourth lunar day (tithi), the fourth phase of the waning moon (please see yesterday’s post for the third), is associated with the water element & is ruled by yama, he the god of endings, of transitions, which are, for most of us, uncomfortable, b/c we don’t know what’s coming next—will it be worse or better? water heightens our emotional sensitivity, & for this reason the water tithis (the fourth, ninth & fourteenth) are best for turning inward, being with & examining what’s arising, like our grief or fear or anger or relief (?!) or regret about, perhaps, the closing of a chapter.

quality of energy

wednesday is ruled by mercury, whose key words are curiosity, communication, humor & analysis. he is now feeling his oats in his home sign of gemini, able to max these qualities out, express himself succinctly & wittily, engage in convos just for the fun of it, for the intellectual joy of it.

how might mercury lighten up a convo you need to have with someone?
