it’s wednesday, february 25, moon is moving from taurus into gemini around noon MST while being supported & transported by the starspace called mṛgaśira, it’s the ninth phase of the waxing moon & mercury’s day.
the move from taurus to gemini is one from our comfort zone to our curiosity zone, from being wrapped in a blanket in our coziest reading chair before a roaring fire with a dog or kitty snuggled alongside to throwing off the blanket & heading out the door to explore the world. taurus can make us feel both secure enough to venture outward & so secure, so comfortable, that we don’t wanna, that we think, “nah, never mind—i’ll just sit here & read another novel.”
as the third house of the natural zodiac, gemini is where we define & refine our sense of self, who we are & what we’re capable of, by investigating new ideas, trying different sports, hanging out with different people.
we’re never done, isn’t it? are you ready to get off the couch?
mṛgaśira is ruled by soma, the elixir of immortality quaffed by the gods that made them immortal, into gods. its superpower is fulfillment, as in never-ending joy, which is what soma is said to bring. but/& we have to work for it; it’s a process, the search is a practice.
mṛgaśira is the wandering deer, ever in search of the tastiest morsel, the morsel that is going to end her search, bring max fulfillment, satisfaction. she wants the best taste, nothing less than the taste of heaven.
so do we, & in our search we lose our taste for things that don’t taste good.
the bhakti yogi shyamdas would say, “a yogi is someone who has lost their taste for things that don’t taste good.”
our progress, spiritual & otherwise, can be measured by all what we’ve lost our taste for in pursuit of our ultimate goal. how’s it going for you?
the ninth lunar day (tithi), the ninth phase of the waxing moon, is ruled by the nagas, who support us in exploring the nooks & crannies of our psyche, our darkest depths, to extract wisdom. which means we may become overwhelmed with or preoccupied by our emotional gunk, feel less social. not a problem! it’s a great, good opportunity to clean up our inner house, sweep some more gunk out the door.
wednesday is ruled by clever, curious & communicative mercury, who is going retrograde tonight for the next three weeks, inviting us to review, revisit & revise our thoughts & ideas before putting them out into the world, not to mention double-check travel plans, reconfirm appointments, remember to hit save, save, save.
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
