it’s tuesday, august 12, & moon is in pisces, in the starspace called uttarabhādra. as moon moves from capricorn to aquarius to pisces, our attention moves farther & farther outward, our perspective on the world & our place in it expands from the individual to the global to the cosmic. pisces vibrates with unity consciousness—it’s where we just might experience the oneness of all that is, or at least begin to realize that we are all more alike than different, are actually all the same, still a perhaps revolutionary idea.
speaking of revolutionary thinking, in all religions are one, william blake (who had three planets in devotional anurādhā, in scorpio, & whose jupiter aspected pisces from there) argued, poetically, for the essential unity of all religions as expressions of the “poetic genius” within all human beings. “poetic genius” was how he interpreted divine spirit, the creative essence (aka shakti) flowing through each & every one of us, enlivening & informing our beingness.
uttarabhādra is ruled by ahirbudhnya, the serpent (ahir) of the depths (budhnya), as in kundalini shakti, the potency of creative energy (poetic genius!) at the depths, the root, of our spine. this asterism brings the power to bring the rains, to fertilize & sustain. if we got a hit of inspo yesterday, today we get to water it, nourish it, urge it onward with wisdom & compassion.
it’s the fourth lunar day (tithi), the fourth phase of the waning moon. how’d it go from the second to the fourth so fast? it didn’t. moon moves fast, but not that fast! i messed up yesterday. it was the third tithi—apologies! but/& if you had to play gumby, be flexible with whatever you were trying to accomplish, had to renegotiate, if you hit a corner like a roomba & had to recalibrate, reorient, find a workaround, that’s why.
meanwhile, the fourth tithi is better for spiritual than material pursuits & is the birth tithi of lord ganesh, he of the big head, who teaches us to use our big heads to overcome obstacles, & also that, um, our obstacles are all in our head! oi—it’s kind of a catch-22, or chicken & egg sitch, but you got this!
tuesday is ruled by mars, who is in virgo, opposite saturn, in pisces, so they’re having a bit of a stare-down. mars say go big or go home, saturn says go slow or go again. go big carefully, not impulsively, so you don’t have to do a do-over.
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
