it’s thursday, june 18, moon is in cancer, in the starspace called aśleṣā, it’ll be the fifth phase of the waxing moon when you read this & it’s jupiter’s day.
focus of attention
cancer is the fourth sign/house of the natural zodiac, which is associated with home & mother, with our physical home & with how at home we feel in ourselves, how at peace, which starts with our mother, whose body was our first physical & emotional home.
“half the world is women. the other half are their children.”—efu nyaki
our mothers did the best they could—the rest is up to us.
mental/emotional direction
aśleṣā is the star of our attachments—the good, the bad & the ugly. it invites us to ask whether what we are clinging to (this nakshatra is, after all, ruled by the nagas, slithery snake-like beings) is serving our highest purpose, allowing us to be the best versions of ourselves, or not.
are you holding onto relationships, emotions, situations out of fear of what might be if you let them go?
what’s the best that could happen if you freed yourself from those shackles?
emotional support
the fifth lunar day (tithi), the fifth phase of the waxing moon, is ruled by goddess vahnivasini, aka “the one dwelling in fire.” she gives us the fire, the inspiration & vision, the alchemical ability to transform what appears to be negative or inchoate into wisdom, into reality.
this tithi gives us the strength to achieve our goal, bring it out of the darkness of our consciousness into the light of the day.
what do you want to achieve? pick one thing!
quality of energy
thursday is jupiter’s day, & his superpower is the ability to connect us to a power greater than ourselves, whatever you might call that. one way we do it is through prayer.
“prayer … is a practice of attention. an exercise in the direction of the whole self—mind, body, imagination, will—toward something that the practitioner believes is more real, more foundational & more alive than anything else in view.”—k. lee brown, phd
do you pray? what does that look like for you?
p.s. checking in
how to use the daily bliss: you can check in with the moon’s weather before you start your day, during or after.
i like to see how my schedule is (or isn’t!) going to align with the moon’s mood. that doesn’t mean i stop everything, cancel appointments, but it gives me a heads-up & if i can rejigger i do. if not, i accept that my day may not go super smoothly. i also know that if, for example, it’s mars’ day i need to keep a lid on frustration, lest it turn into anger … at someone else—that’s real for me!
if you feel like you’re hitting a brick wall during the day, maybe it’s b/c you are going totally against the flow—if you can’t pivot, you can at least take comfort from knowing why it’s happening.
i also like to check in after the fact. for example, i note that yesterday i was aware of my ridic projections & expectations re relationships (venus in cancer, ck!), i nourished the good in me (puṣya, ck!), i gave my home some love (third tithi, ck!) & also those parts of myself i don’t love so much (fourth tithi, ck!), & i thought critically about it all (mercury’s day, ck!).
i don’t always check all the moon’s boxes!
how’d it go for you? how does the daily bliss serve you?
🌒🙏✨
the daily bliss is 100% human generated! the act of creation is intrinsic to being human—when we give up our agency to create, we cease, little by little, to be fully human.
may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little (or a lot!) more bliss in your life.
