it’s tuesday, april 7, moon is in scorpio, in the starspace called jyeṣṭḥā, it’s the sixth phase of the waning moon & mars’ day.

scorpio is where we get to get uncomfortable, where we might suffer a little (or a lot—we can get into suffering being optional another time), b/c—duh!—no one likes being uncomfortable, right? but, as ram dass taught, suffering is a powerful tool, it’s like sandpaper that wears away the ego & gets us in tune with our true self.

if that rubs you the wrong way, remember that scorpio is opposite taurus, our comfort zone, our happy place, & that it’s not one or the other, comfort or discomfort, joy or sorrow, but both/&, that the one informs the other, that the lower we go the higher we can fly.

or, as van gogh said, “there is no blue without yellow & without orange, & if you put in blue, then you must put in yellow, & orange too, mustn’t you?”

pairing complementary colors, cool blues & warm yellows, makes each more vivid.

how are you with incorporating the blues & yellows, inviting, accepting, embracing all the colors, the entire emotional spectrum of your life?

how vivid, how vibrant do you feel? how high do you let yourself fly?

jyeṣṭḥā is ruled by indra & its superpower is the ability to rise, conquer & gain courage in battle, as indra did, to max out personal power, rise to the greatest heights. yeah, well, indra rose & fell, rose & fell—he was, there’s no other way to say it, perhaps the biggest fuckup among the gods. his lowest qualities, like insecurity, often led him by the nose to pick fights & he then had to eat humble pie.

but he did. he admitted (unlike some people!) when he was wrong, when he went to war wrongheadedly, with bad intel. & then he did better. he was kinda the poster boy for self-improvement!

humility is the key to rising above & conquering our egoic attachments to & quests for power, to reaching our personal heights, becoming our best selves.

the sixth lunar day (tithi), the sixth phase of the waning moon, is ruled by goddess vajreshwari, the sort of queen of diamonds—vajra = “hard, adamant, cemented, impenetrable, a diamond.” this tithi supports us in making our dreams a reality, as solid & forever as a diamond, & it resonates well with tuesday, the two creating an amrita yoga, a combo that yields nectar, sweetness, juiciness. amrita was the source of the gods’ immortality, gave them the foreverness of a diamond.

what do you want to manifest that will have a forever quality to it? no pressure!

tuesday is ruled by mars, our warrior spirit, & invites us to, as indra learned to, fight our internal battles, the battles with our lowest qualities, with our negative tendencies, rather than project them onto others & get into wrongheaded external battles.

& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
