it’s wednesday, july 30, & moon is in virgo, in the starspace called hastā until midmorning, then citrā. as the sixth sign of the natural zodiac (the one that starts with aries as the first house, rather than your personal zodiac, in which the first house is your rising sign, your ascendant), virgo is associated with illness, debts & enemies. don’t freak out—it doesn’t mean you’re going to get sick or go bankrupt!
our invitation is to be a bulwark against all that by insinuating healthy mind, body, spirit & financial regimens into our lives. getting a grip on money can be especially challenging for women, who, as tori dunlap shared in a recent “we can do hard things” podcast, are taught to give, give, give, essentially give it away rather than accumulate. if that’s you, you might wanna give tori a listen or read.
hastā (see yesterday’s post for more) & citrā are both related to creativity, but citrā straddles earthy virgo, where venus is debilitated, & airy libra, where venus fully flourishes, taking creativity from the realm of the practical into the realm of the stunningly beautiful. in fact, citrā means “brilliant,” as in gorgeously sparkly like a jewel, & is ruled by tvashtar (also known as vishwakarma), the cosmic architect, who imagined the universe & engineered its manifestation.
this asterism is represented by a pearl, which is created through endless irritation & whose shell has to be broken for its beauty to be seen & appreciated.
guess who the pearl is? guess whose shell (i.e., ego, resistance) gets to be broken? guess who gets to emerge from the shell like venus, beauty incarnate? yes, us! we are our greatest, most unique creations—our essential work is to bring ourselves out of the magic dark of our imagination into the light of day, to be fully, radiantly brilliant. &, yes, that work can get gritty. how’s that going?
it’s the sixth lunar day (tithi), the sixth phase of the waxing moon, which brings the jewel-like quality of diamonds & vishwakarma into the mix. when indra was up against the demon vrtrasura, vishwakarma created the vajra for him, a weapon as strong as a diamond, with which he was able to slay the demon. shine it or shine like a crazy diamond!
wednesday is ruled by talky, thinky, mercurial mercury. work your mercury muscle by writing & taking care of organizational tasks in a lighthearted way. how can you make them fun?
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
