it’s thursday, october 23, & moon moves from libra into scorpio around 10:30 a.m. MDT while being supported & transported by the starspace called viśakhā. under the sway of libra, we get to examine how we are showing up in relationship, &, if necessary, to right the balance between people-pleasing & me-pleasing. which can entail revealing more of our authentic selves, being vulnerable. under the sway of scorpio vulnerability can lead to fear, fear that we revealed too much, allowed ourselves to be too seen; we can feel like emperors without clothes, vikings without an ax or sword or face paint.

“when i think about vulnerability, i think about opposites: tenderness & toughness. to be vulnerable is to be open, to be exposed, & to risk being wounded. …

“there is no vulnerability without courage. they travel together. to be vulnerable is to allow yourself to be seen, & sometimes it is so difficult—downright mortifying, even—to be perceived, isn’t it?”—maggie smith

scorpio’s ruler, mars, gives us the courage to be seen, to be with our vulnerability, stare down & overcome our fears like warriors, like shield maidens.

viśakhā is ruled by both indra & agni (indragni), the sort of thunder & lightning of the gods, who work in tandem like courage & vulnerability. indra is the king, agni the priest—willpower & inspiration. this asterism brings a lesson about uniting all the forces within us, our determination & ambition, our passion & devotion, to achieve our goal.

it’s the second lunar day (tithi), the second phase of the waxing moon, until late morning, then the third. the first tithi brought inspiration, a spark; the second the confidence to protect that spark so it could become a flame; the third invites us to nourish that flame into sustainable fire, to keep feeding it, bringing it morsels like mama & papa birds returning to their nestlings. what does your flame need to grow?

thursday is ruled by jupiter, planet of wisdom.

“wisdom is knowing what will increase your bhav & what will not.”—shyamdas

“bhav means ‘good mood’—the type of good mood that arises when you remember who you really are.”—sharon gannon

btw: speaking of courage & vulnerability, i am off to support others on the path of love, a process of sublimely courageous & vulnerable personal growth work. i’ll catch back up with you when i return.

& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
