it’s wednesday, october 22, & moon is in libra, in the starspace called svātī. libra, as i mentioned previously, is where our attention turns to our relationships, especially one-on-one ones, to bringing harmony, sympathy & compassion to them … without being a doormat.
amma, aka “the hugging saint,” is a libra. her venus, which rules libra, is in her eleventh house of greater service to humanity, which is leo, in the starspace called maghā, which is represented by a throne. considered to be the embodiment of love, the queen, you might say, of love, from her throne she gives darshan to tens of thousands of people, hugs them one at a time, sits for hours on end, never even taking a pee break, thanks also to her exalted saturn, which gives her perseverance & stamina.
“may the tree of our lives be rooted in the soil of love, may good deeds be the leaves, kind words be the flowers, & peace be the fruit. may the world flourish as one family, united in love. may we thus be able to create a world in which peace & contentment prevail. this is amma’s sincere prayer.”—amma
amma’s frequency of love was the highest, pure devotion, bhakti. most of us are not saints like amma & while we may aim high with our expression of love, for most of us it is still contractual, it’s conditional, so it’s up to us to make sure the conditions are harmonious. if they bring harmony to us, they’ll bring harmony to others.
svātī is ruled by vayu, god of the winds, who was hanuman’s dad. hanuman flew like the wind over the ocean to rescue sita from the demon ravana (whom you might remember from monday’s post about rama). hanuman didn’t know he could fly, didn’t know it was his superpower. it was his devotion (key word for today?!) to rama, whose heart beat with the frequency of ram (same as rama), that allowed him to harness all his prana, his inner winds, his precious faculties of attention & intention, & get the job done.
what might you accomplish if you could focus, focus, focus? who or what are you devoted to?
it’s the first lunar day (tithi), the first phase of the waxing moon, until about 8:45 a.m. MDT, then the second, so the flame of our inspiration, of what we get to manifest in the waxing fortnight, is beginning to grow, the light becoming almost visible to the world.
wednesday is ruled by mercury, who is still in libra, where, as i mentioned on monday, there is a lot of planetary energy, so we are, especially with moon there, thinking & talking about our relationships, hopefully in a productive manner.
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
