it’s wednesday, january 21, & moon is in aquarius, in the starspace called śatabhiṣak. aquarius is the sign of the people & it’s where we take responsibility for being one among many. where we consider whether our actions serve our own good or the greater good, are selfless or selfish, & hew toward the former.
i know this is a fantasy, but—hey, aquarius can be very idealistic—if you are a business you make sure you are not polluting the air-water-soil that are shared resources for one & all. & if you are & get caught out, you fix the problem rather than deny it. you make amends.
if you are, say, a water treatment plant responsible for dislodging a “fatberg” the size of four buses (!) that is then responsible for the spillage of debris balls made of FOG (fats, oils & grease—yuck!) onto beaches, you don’t say, “there have been no issues with the normal operations of the bondi or malabar wastewater treatment plants.”
it’s kinda like a kid whose face is covered with chocolate saying he’s never seen a chocolate bar in his life. like the deepwater horizon peeps saying, “oil spill? not our problem!”
śatabhiṣak is the star of healing. & speaking of oceans, it is ruled by varuna, lord & protector of the oceans … of consciousness. he teaches us that we are all one ((!), that we are connected, that our actions affect others & we are in turn affected by theirs.
speaking of pollution, he helps rid our minds of toxic/polluting thoughts, often the source of our greatest suffering, illness.
what we resist, refuse to accept, persists. acceptance is the first step in healing.
remember: thoughts become words become actions become habits become character become destiny.
it’s the third lunar day (tithi), the third phase of the waxing moon, until early afternoon, then the fourth. the third tithi supports us in being as flexible as gumby, to pivot if necessary, reorient, recalibrate. the fourth in, well, more reorienting, shifting our perception of obstacles, seeing them as gifts, as opportunities rather than as foes that need to be vanquished.
yes, everything is a learning opportunity, especially the things we resist, don’t want to deal with, feel overwhelmed by.
wednesday is ruled by mercury, the switzerland in the planetary pantheon, who doesn’t have any skin in the game, whose discriminating intelligence is what allows us to separate truth from fiction without being attached to a particular truth. mercury doesn’t have a hypthosis & set out to prove it; he looks at data sets & lets the data reveal the truth.
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
