it’s friday, april 10, moon is in capricorn, in the starspace called uttarāṣāḍha, it’s the eighth phase of the waning moon until 11:45 a.m. MDT, then the ninth, & venus’ day.
while sagittarius fires us up with big ideas, with inspiration, thanks to jupiter’s rulership, capricorn brings us & our ideas, our hopes & dreams, down to earth thanks to saturn’s practicality & seriousness. capricorn says, “put up or shut up,” take action, take responsibility for your life, & stop complaining about why you can’t. for under the sway of capricorn reality is not optional.
sorry if that sounds harsh, but saturn doesn’t have the best bedside manner, is, after all, cold & dry, doesn’t mince words. he does, however, give us discipline & perseverance, reminds us of our duties, keeps us focused on what’s really important.
uttarāṣāḍha means “final/ultimate victory” & is the counterpart to yesterday’s purvāṣāḍha. purva initiates the pathway to victory, uttara takes us to the finish line, completes the process. uttara is ruled by the vishwadevas, the universal gods who represent the ten directions & thus the collective powers of the heavens to make us invincible (āṣāḍha) in reaching our goal.
the vishwadevas remind us of our collective powers/gifts/abilities, that the gods don’t live just in the heavens but within us. &, yes, while we can do it alone, we don’t have to, we can acknowledge our strengths & weaknesses & ask for help. hey, it might even be fun to be a team player, give up a little control-freakness, delegate, get a good night’s sleep for a change.
how are you at asking for help, at receiving?
the eighth lunar day (tithi), the eighth phase of the waning moon, is ruled by goddess tvarita, who united the opposing forces of chaos & creation & supports us in doing the same with our own dueling energies, the ones that perhaps appall us & the ones we are comfortable owning.
the ninth tithi is ruled by goddess kulasundari, whose name means “the most beautiful in her abode/family.” on a material level abode means our physical home, on an esoteric level it’s muladhara chakra at the base of our spine, where the goddess, as kundalini shakti, lies in slumber waiting to be woken up.
kundalini shakti is serpent/naga energy, transformative & potent with wisdom. the ninth tithi is watery, like friday, so our emotions may run especially high. take this opportunity to turn inward & be with them, invite their wisdom, if you can. kulasundari devi has lots of hands: stay home & put them to use there if you can.
friday invites us into the energy of venus, planet of our earthly delights, of our embodied existence, which comes to us through the courtesy of our five senses. how can you satisfy their cravings today?
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
