it is said that we pick our mothers, that as the soul is about to be placed in a body to be birthed, we choose that body—for karmic reasons we knew before we were born but forget as soon as we take our first breath.

… is the star of nourishment, the nourishment for the soul that comes through wisdom, through vidya. this nakshatra’s symbol is a cow’s teats, which people often relate to food but are a metaphor. for indra, the king of gods, who earned that lofty title b/c he was a great yogi, did intense tapas, milked brihaspati, guru/priest to the gods, for wisdom!

it’s also good to know that prayer without action is like peanut butter without jelly—& wishing alone won’t make it so.

… is ruled by moon, who represents our mind but also our heart-knowing, our intuition. for the sanskrit word hṛdaya (हृदय) means heart-mind, suggesting that the two energies/organs are not separate but are one, that true knowing comes from their merging.
