it’s thursday, may 22, & moon is in pisces, in the starspace called uttarabhadra. pisces vibrates with the frequency of merging with all that is, creates a deep longing to return hOMe. the welsh word “hiraeth” (pronounced HERE-eye-ath, HEER-eth, HIRA-eth, etc.) can be translated as longing + yearning + nostalgia + wistfulness + homesickness; it is a tug on the heart that conveys the feeling of missing something that is—or, i’m going to suggest, feels—irretrievably lost. spiritually, it’s the ego, our personality structure, that keeps us from returning hOMe, creates boundaries between us & the divine, god, all that is, that prevents us from surrendering utterly & completely & finding our way hOMe. what do you long for? how great is that longing?
“god won’t come to you until you disappear.”—osho
uttarabhadra is the counterpart to yesterday’s purvabhadra. whereas—if we’re lucky, if we’re open & receptive, if we’ve prepared—in purva we get “aha!” moments of deep insight, in uttara we get to do something with those insights, apply them to our life, use them or lose them, share them with the world. its shakti, or superpower, is to bring the rain, as in nourishment, as in helping plants grow. what do you want to plant, create, establish? are you nourishing it?
it’s the tenth lunar day (tithi), the tenth phase of the waning moon, which is connected to dharma & thus resonates well with thursday, ruled by jupiter, the guru, the cosmic teacher, who reminds us of our dharma, of our highest purpose in life. if we’re not living in alignment with our dharma, we just might get a course correction today. say, “thank you.”
thursday is ruled by jupiter, who entered gemini last week for a yearlong stay. jupiter’s key words are “wisdom,” “expansion” & “optimism.” he is the guru, the teacher who lights up our life with meaning, a sense of purpose, & was last in gemini twelve years ago: think back those dozen years for insights (!) into what areas of life were affected & how you might be called into working through yet more of that karma (it’s never done until we are!), what gets to be upleveled. besides gemini’s domain, think about libra’s, sagittarius’s & aquarius’s, b/c jupiter is shining his light on those signs as well. & jupiter is going to be moving fast as fast through gemini, so hop on that express train now!
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
