it’s tuesday, may 23, & moon is in gemini, in the starspace called punarvasu. the environment of gemini encourages us to be social & with social venus hanging out in gemini & pretty much right on top of the moon right now, we just may feel especially inclined to heed those people-oriented inclinations & call a friend just to chat, or host a spontaneous dinner, or email a loved one.
punarvasu can be translated as “visible infinity” & is ruled by aditi, the womb of the universe, goddess of unbounded (infinite!) space, space being the fertile zone of, well, infinite possibility. this asterism gives us the power to create & nourish like the divine mother herself. what do you want to create & how are you going to nourish it?
it’s the fourth lunar day, the fourth phase of the waxing moon, which is ruled by ganesh & can bring a feeling of being bogged down, thwarted. ganesh is famously the remover of obstacles, but what you may not know is that he is also the bringer of those very same obstacles. why would he bring them just to take them away? to challenge us, b/c it is only by being challenged that we expand our capacity to step into who we really are, discover what we are capable of. so if you find a hurdle blocking your way today, thank ganesh & ask him to help you leap over it or find a workaround.
tuesday is ruled by mars, the part of us that gets triggered & is likely to respond with anger—i.e., react. anger/hostility/frustration is usually what’s on the surface. if we can pause before we react & have the presence of mind (& heart) to examine what lies beneath the surface, we are likely to find pain of some kind, our own pain.
“i imagine one of the reasons people cling to their hates so stubbornly is b/c they sense, once hate is gone, they will be forced to deal with pain.”—james baldwin
hate is defined as “intense hostility toward an object (as an individual) that has frustrated the release of an inner tension.” it is anger gone nuclear. if we can get under anger when it arises, have the courage (which mars gives us in spades) to deal with our pain, we will never get to hate, which is, after all, a four-letter word.
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
