what to know so you can align with today’s energy from a vedic (not western/tropical) astrology point of view: it’s thursday, september 10, & we have a new moon tonight in leo, in the starspace called pūrvaphālgunī.
adding their most special special sauce to the mix are not one, not two but four (!) planets—jupiter, sun, mercury & venus—awake as can be, shining with their full effulgence, supporting this new moon with max intelligence & power.
what’s it all mean?
new moon is the union of sun & moon, the divine masculine & the divine feminine, shiva & shakti, who need each other in order to create a new something, to procreate.
leo is the sign of our personal power & the way we wield it in the world, whether for personal aggrandizement or for the benefit of others, with hubris or with humility.
pūrvaphālgunī is ruled by bhaga, the god of delight, & is represented by the front legs of a bed—the kind for napping, for enjoying a little special time, not with just anyone, but with an intended, to make sure it’s a match made in heaven, that the seed of desire has the potential to sprout & grow, that the union will be able to stick hard & soft landings.
pūrva is the star under which parvati started her intense practices (they lasted four thousand years!) in order to win the love of her intended, shiva. she was one fierce devi! steadfastly devoted to him! & her efforts bore fruit (phālgunī = “fruit”). she clearly knew how to get the attention of the meditation master!
venus has been asleep (planets can be awake, asleep or dreaming) since june 2, woke up on september 2, when he moved into his own sign of libra. just as when we go to bed with a problem, in the morning when we wake up we may see things more clearly, same-same for planets. since venus is all about relationships, we just may be getting some clarity around relationships in general or one relationship in particular. may need to raise our standards, reinforce boundaries, even say bye-bye to a partnership of some kind that’s been more burdensome than beguiling, that’s been depleting our life force, been pouring cold water on our creative fire, our ability to own our power & shine our light.
where might you have been squandering, how might you have been squandering (it’s a question, not an accusation!), misusing, even abusing your desire nature? how might you have been scattering it in too many directions—building a bench, in love coach terms, rather than investing time & energy in one person? how might your precious faculties of creativity (which can mean manifestation in general) been wasted for want of focus? how’s your relationship with your own power?
what seed of desire are you ready to plant?
how might answers to those questions guide your intention for the new moon? & take your time—although all those awake planets are ready to rocket-boost your intentions, pūrvaphālgunī says it’s OK to rest up, relax, make decisions when you are clear, calm & collected.

the daily bliss is 100% human generated! the act of creation is intrinsic to being human—when we give up our agency to create, we cease, little by little, to be fully human.
may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little (or a lot!) more bliss in your life.
