it’s thursday, august 14, & moon is in aries, in the starspace called aśvinī. aries, as the first sign of the natural zodiac, vibrates with the frequency of beginnings, of beginning again, of a beginner’s mind. under the sway of aries, ruled by courageous (&, ok, headstrong—aries does represent the head!) mars, yes is the only answer, playing small doesn’t compute. going where we’ve never gone before? no problem!
regardless of what you think of mcdonald’s (& i am def not a proponent of highly processed food—yuck!), its founder, roy kroc, was a struggling businessman until he hit upon the idea, at age 51, that turned golden.
“don’t think you’re late in life. every flower blooms in its own time.”—neem karoli baba
roy tried & tried & tried again, began again & again & again, wasn’t afraid to fail.
what would you do if you weren’t afraid to fail, if you didn’t think you were too old or too young, too this or too that?
aśvinī is ruled by twin horse gods & is imbued with the (horse) power to reach goals quickly, gain quick results. horses are associated with prana (our vital life force) & the senses, which feedback on each other: by controlling our prana, we control our senses, & then prana flows more sweetly & smoothly. this in turn affects our mind—our thoughts ride on prana & the smoother the prana the smoother the ride. in order to reach a goal, we have to focus, rein our senses in, not be led astray by every desire. if we can focus, insta-decisions can set powerful forces in motion.
it’s the sixth lunar day (tithi), the sixth phase of the waning moon, which gives us strength & confidence—the confidence to pursue our goals, our dreams, & to handle the outcome regardless.
thursday is ruled by jupiter, who is hanging out in the sky with venus, both of them in gemini, for another week or so, & kissing-close on tuesday. (venus is bright as bright, jupiter fainter but still easily visible in the night or pre-dawn sky.) both jupiter & venus are teachers: jupiter is said to be guru to the gods, venus to the demons—our highest self versus our desirous self. since it’s jupiter’s day (& b/c reining in our senses is on high), i invite you to go high.
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
