it’s wednesday, may 24, & moon is in cancer, in the starspace called pushya. cancer vibrates with the frequency of the divine feminine, of the all-giving, unconditionally-loving mother. cancer is heart-oriented, feels first & thinks later, & is very domestic, home-oriented, like harriet of “ozzie & harriet” fame (altho without the creepy dysfunctional element putting a lie to the happy-family narrative). which is not to say that cancer, at its highest vibration, embodies the pre-feminist patriarchal ideal of aproned womanhood. quite the contrary—cancer, at its highest vibration, is beyond all that, loves on all b/c it is an expression of, not a diminishment of, feminine power. so if you’re feeling like puttering around the house or taking care of others today, go for it—do it from your source of strength, from the immensity of your heart-power.

speaking of nourishing, pushya actually means “nourisher”! this asterism is ruled by brihaspati, the priest, & is another name for jupiter, the guru. the guru is kind & caring, blesses us with benevolence by gracing us with, nourishing us with, well, grace for sure, & also compassion, joyfulness & optimism. a guru or a priest, like a mother, is selfless, gives b/c that’s their dharma, b/c they want only the best for us. pushya brings a lesson about who & what we nourish, love on, & gives us the power to increase our good karma by doing so with devotion, which, btw, does not mean the fruit of our selflessness is the goal, b/c that wouldn’t be selfless at all! no, loving-nourishing-caring is the end in & of itself.

it’s the fifth lunar day, the fifth phase of the waxing moon, which supports creativity & healing. given that moon is in motherly, nurturing, kind AF cancer & it’s mercury’s day, we might consider how our words can be a kind of medicine. for “the words of kindness are more healing to a drooping heart than balm or honey,” wrote the eighteenth-century author sarah fielding.

wednesday is ruled by mercury, the part of us that uses our discriminating intelligence to gather facts & has no trouble changing our mind when presented with information that contradicts what we thought was true, that contradicts our beliefs, no matter how hard or long we’ve held them. how are you doing with that? how open is your mind? how willing are you to receive & assimilate new intel?

& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
